Helix Player QA

Maintained by: Umakanth

Thanks for your interest in making the Helix Player a world-class media experience for Linux, Solaris and other Gtk-compatible environments. Here's some things you can do now:

Helix PlayerQA is the Quality Assurance (QA) team for Helix. We keep track of current bugs in Helix software and try to make sure that major bugs do not go unnoticed by developers. You do not need any programming knowledge to be in the PlayerQA; in fact, it is a great way to return something to the Helix community if you cannot program.

We encourage you to register as a member of the Helix Community. This is mandatory in case you wish to log bugs.

Download a build

Nightly Builds Are Available! Binary installers and RPM's are available for:

  • linux-2.2-libc6-i386

Additionally source tarballs are available. These are cross-platform and only require the 'make' command to build.

Milestone Builds are available in the Player Project Downloads area. Folks interested in contributing to our QA effort are encouraged to use the latest released build for testing and nightly builds for regression testing

Test Plans are in the Documents area. Download and run through the latest RealPlayer10 for Linux Test Plan.

If you find a bug, log it! - Let us know about any issues you find. New users are encouraged to read theBugZilla Tips and Tricks page.

Join a mailing list - join our community of developers, testers, documentation writers and managers working toward creating a great media playback experience.
