Mailing lists in Helix Community
are probably the best way for users of
the community to interact. They are the best tools for users to get
appraised of the exciting things that are going on, get their
development and product related questions answered or sometimes just
get general information about the community, its components and its
processes. All Helix developers are part of the mailing lists and are
hence the mailing lists are the first recourse to getting more
information about Helix DNA components, getting your problems solved
and getting deeply involved in the community.
Here is how you can participate in the Helix Community mailing lists.
(Note that some lists are non-public lists and would require you to
log-in)

Join the Announce Lists (recieve only):
Announce lists are mechanisms for distribution of important
developments and announcements from various project owners in the
community. These are low-traffic(<10 emails/month), usually public
lists that users should be a member of so they stay abreast of the most
recent developments in HelixCommunity.org.

Discuss lists are channels for discussion about important community
issues. These are reasonably low-traffic (<10 emails/month) public
lists that users should be a member of so to stay involved and have a
say in community developments.

Join the Developer Lists (send and receive):
Dev lists are developer-focused mailing lists, lists where developers
ask and answer questions on topics ranging from Source code
availability and build failures to codec implementations and source
code optimization. These are fairly high traffic(>50 emails/month)
mailing lists that all developers should be a part of.

Join the Code-Review Lists (send and receive):
These Dev lists are highly developer-focused mailing lists, lists where
developers
ask and answer questions on topics specific to the individual
components and submit code-reviews. These are very high traffic mailing
lists(>75 emails/month) that all
serious developers should be a part of, especially if you want to keep
track of the source-code and what bugs are getting fixed etc.

These lists are highly
developer-focused mailing lists, and are receive-only. If you want to
be a fly in the wall and receive notifications and diffs of all the
source-code that has been checked in to the Code-base, then these lists
are for you. Please be aware that they are very very
high-traffic(>100 emails/month).
